Kevin Hart Gets Raw and Real in ‘Acting My Age’ Netflix Special
Getting older and wiser has never been funnier
Kevin Hart is back in his hilarious stand-up special, Acting My Age, where he uses his signature high-energy wit to share his personal experiences with growing wisdom, new family dynamics, and the constant ways in which age knocks at his kneecaps. This special takes a more mature pivot in Hart’s usual comedy while still delivering jokes at the same speed and cadence for which he widely known.
It is not always easy for a performer to curate their art in a way that grows with them, but Kevin effortlessly navigates this minefield with a magnitude of self-awareness and an absence of “keeping up with the Jones’s.” Famously known for making himself and his family the punchline of a joke, Kevin continues this tradition through tales of what it is now like as a father of four—two of whom are in their late teens/early adulthood—and the new way he navigates life as a man in his 40s. His charm and comedy are sharper than ever as he takes you on an hour long journey with unending laughter and respect for his craft.
With Age Comes Wisdom and Mysterious Back Pains
One of the focal points of Kevin’s set is the physical decline of the body as one ages. He pokes fun at random knee pains, sciatica, and sheds a deeper (and hilarious) light on his race against a retired football player that landed him in a wheelchair in August 2023 for months (Uncs everywhere, do not try this at home). While his stand-up sets in recent years may have felt specific to the life of a superstar, Acting My Age brings us all together with relatable and realistic stories about the ups and downs of aging and the unforeseen gifts that comes with getting older.
If you’ve ever had knee pain and made a comment about the weather, this is for you. If you don’t know what that means, pay attention—this will be you soon enough. Join in on the laughs as Kevin Hart continues to share his hard-earned wisdom, personal and career mishaps, his life as a father, and his life as a flawed human being in Acting My Age, available to stream Monday, November 24, only on Netflix.
