Benvenuti all’hotel Costiera! Daniel de Luca (Jesse Williams) is an ex U.S Marine whose Italian heritage takes him to the Amalfi Coast upon retirement—Hotel Costiera, the beautiful yet quaint hotel on the coastline of Positano that caters to wealthy guests. The owners, Augusto (Tommaso Ragno) and his daughter Adele (Maria Chiara Giannetta), are good friends with Daniel and hire him to stay at the hotel as a “fixer,” using his skills acquired over 20 years of military service to ensure everything runs smoothly. However, even the most beautiful of places experience the ugliest things.
‘Miami Vice’ meets ‘Psych’
This six-episode series sees Daniel solving the guests’ problems—from body parts to secret lover discoveries. His biggest case, however, is the one that is closest to Augusto and the most dangerous: find his daughter, Alice (Amanda Campana), who went missing a month prior. Throughout the series, Daniel will enlist help from his friends Genny (Jordan Alexandra), Bigné (Antonio Gerardi), and Tancredi (Sam Haygarth)—seductive, street savvy, and beguiling—to solve the mysteries of the hotel and figure out what happened to Alice.
Hotel Costiera is an action-drama-thriller that brings back fun and wit in its approach to mystery solving and “guess who” television. From episode one to six, the brightness and camp vibes launch the audience into a fun game of Clue, leaving you to grab your magnifying glasses, fingerprint dusting kits, and vacation sandals. Jesse Williams even gives you a taste of Italian speaking, honoring Daniel de Luca’s half-Italian heritage in Prime Video’s authentic use of the language with the remaining cast members. While the series will make you whip out your Pinterest vision boards, it also explores major themes of power, loyalty, and discretion within the hotel—uncovering webs of lies and discovering just how far the wealthy will go to keep vacation secrets…vacation secrets.
All six episodes of Hotel Costiera will premiere Wednesday, September 24, only on Amazon Prime Video.
