'Scary Movie 6' Trailer: Welcome Home, Wayans Family
The Wayans Family is back and no one is safe.
If you thought Scary Movie 6 was going to be ridiculous, it is—the opening scene quickly going from M3GAN to Ghostface to the Gen Z victim so caught up on their pronouns that they get in the way of their own protection.
Immediately you know: the Wayans are finally home.
The Wayans family has regained control of the franchise that changed the horror movie parody game, bringing back Scary Movie alums Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, Ana Faris, Regina Hall, Jon Abrahams, Dave Sheridan, Lochlyn Munro, Cheri Oteri, and Chris Elliott.
Along with the cast we know and love, this film ushers in new faces to the franchise like Damon Wayans Jr., Heidi Gardner, Kim Wayans, Kai Cenat, Olivia Rose Keegan, Savannah Lee Nassif, Cameron Scott Roberts, Ruby Snowber, and Benny Zielke.
Scary Movie 6, releasing this summer, is produced by the Wayans family (Keenen Ivory, Shawn, Marlon) and Rick Alvarez, and is directed by Michael Tiddes.

Just Because You Have the Recipe Doesn’t Mean You Know How to Cook
Scary Movie 1 and 2 ushered in an era of filmmaking in the new millennium that quickly took over the early 2000s with their releases. Already known for their spoofs not only from In Living Color (1990-1994), but also Don’t Be A Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood (1996), the Wayans family was set to turn horror satire on its head.
However, during a sit down on Club Shay Shay with Shannon Sharpe, Marlon revealed that Harvey and Bob Weinstein essentially “stole” the Scary Movie franchise, noting that because Miramax owned the IP, they took their pitches and didn’t want to pay them increased wages to be involved—producing Scary Movie 3 without them.
The Wayans family has since reclaimed their franchise by reuniting with Miramax and CEO Jonathan Glickman—returning to the series after two decades, bringing back with them that signature Wayans sauce that can never be duplicated without them.
Amplified by Eminem’s hit record “Without Me,” the Wayans family makes a clear claim, one that we’ve felt over the years: the franchise is empty without them. Scary Movie 6 aims to correct wrongs and keep us laughing by bringing back the core group that made us fall in love with the franchise in the first place.
And based on this trailer, the chaos is back in full effect. No one is safe.
